We met every six weeks or so, and the meetings always followed this patter. 1) Talk about the book of the "month". 2) A quiet segue to Jane Austen. 3) Gossip, in the richest and fullest sense of the word. I loved it, and it was one of big sorrows of leaving NZ to come to Adelaide.
